Kendrick Lamar Unveils Album Art And Album Title, And The Internet Goes Crazy
The Kendrick season is finally upon us after a 2 year and 3 months wait for a follow up to Kendrick Lamar’s GoodKid/Maad City, an album so good, it serves as an audio text for a university course (you can google for confirmation). Anyway back to the present, Kendrick finally unveiled the album art and title for his much awaited album and from what the internet can tell, its seems we are getting more than we bargained for when this album drops fully on the 23rd of March. Before now not so much has been heard about the album, except that the album will feature his most recent racially charged single “The Blacker The Berry” and most of the album was produced by Beats Music CEO, Dr Dre. Kendrick and his label, TDE had intentionally kept the details of the album to themselves, however Kendrick dropped the picture above on his instagram page with the caption: “Don’t all dogs go to heaven? Don’t Gangsta’s boogie? Do owl shit stank? Lions, Tigers & Bears. But TO PIMP A BUTTERFLY. Its the American dream nigga….” – lil Homie. Although the title of the album is capitalized in the statement, it is later revealed that the album will be titled “To Pimp A Butterfly”
As you can trust, there are already reactions on the internet, reviews and emotions all rising on the album cover many are even starting to deem as controversial, especially after Kendrick had come under public scrutiny recently, when the rapper made some comments in his Billboard magazine interview. While we eagerly await the new Kendrick LP, lets hear what you have to say about this album art.
